Archetypes

Archetypes are the basics of astrology. Jung pioneered them and they have been further developed by teachers such as Joseph Campbell, Caroline Myss and Chuck Spezzano.

To better understand the blueprint that you were born with -your astrological birth chart -it is worth knowing what are your 3 most important Archetypal allies.

The 3 most important things to know about your chart are  the signs of  your Sun, Moon and Ascendant.

• Your Sun is your spirit.
• The Moon your soul.
• The ascendant (also called your rising sign) is your personality or mask you show the world, behind which you can hide, and through which you can expresses yourself.

Soul Purpose

To discover more about your soul’s purpose you need to know about your North Node, which indicates the destination your soul wants you to head for in this lifetime. The sign it’s in is often at odds with the Sun and Moon sign, so there might be a lot of resistance to this different energy.

Elements

‘At odds’ means the elements are not compatible. Astrology is a language and the four elements are one of the building blocks. They are in this order:- fire, earth, air, water.

Fire and air are compatible, as are earth and water. Fire signs are Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. Air are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius, so these two groups get along.

Earth signs are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. The water signs are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

So having the Sun in Scorpio and The North Node in Aries is a difficult combination as water can put out the fire.
